Handheld Barcode Scanner

The hand-held barcode scanner is a product formed by the technology introduced in 1987. It looks like the barcode barcode scanner used by the cashier in the supermarket. The vast majority of handheld barcode scanners use CIS technology, with an optical resolution of 200dpi, and there are various types of black and white, grayscale, and color, and the color type is generally 18-bit color. There are also individual high-end products that use CCD as the photosensitive device, which can realize 1-bit true color, and the scanning effect is better.

Small drum barcode scanner

This is an intermediate product between handheld barcode scanners and platform barcode scanners (new ones have appeared in recent years, because they have built-in power supply and small size, they are called notebook barcode scanners). Most of these products use CIS technology, optical The resolution is 300dpi, there are two kinds of color and grayscale, and the color model is generally 24-bit color. There are also a small number of small drum barcode scanners that use CCD technology, and the scanning effect is obviously better than that of CIS technology products, but due to structural limitations, the volume is generally significantly larger than that of CIS technology products. The small drum design is to fix the lens of the barcode scanner, and move the object to be scanned to scan through the lens. It works like a printer, and the object to be scanned must pass through the machine before being sent out. Therefore, the scanned object cannot too thick. The advantage of this kind of barcode scanner is that it is small in size, but due to various limitations in use, for example, it can only scan thin paper, and the range cannot exceed the size of the barcode scanner.

Flatbed Barcode Scanner

Flat-bed barcode scanners are also called flat-bed barcode scanners and desktop barcode scanners. At present most of the barcode scanners on the market are flat-bed barcode scanners, which are the mainstream now. The optical resolution of this type of barcode scanner is between 300dpi-8000dpi, the number of color bits is from 24 to 48, and the scanning format is generally A4 or A3. The advantage of the flatbed type is that just like using a copier, as long as the upper cover of the barcode scanner is opened, no matter it is a book, newspaper, magazine, or photo negative, it can be scanned on it. It is quite convenient, and the scanning effect is also all common types of barcode scanning It is better in the device.

There are also large-format barcode scanners, pen-type barcode scanners, barcode barcode scanners, negative film barcode scanners for large-format scanning (note that it is not a flat-bed barcode scanner plus transparent scanning, the effect is much better, and the price is of course expensive), Physical barcode scanners (not flat barcode scanners with physical scanning capabilities, somewhat similar to digital cameras), and drum barcode scanners mainly used in the field of industrial printing and typesetting, etc.
